Maybe not the best choice of words?

A 14 year old who shot and killed an openly gay teen at his junior high school has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the hate crime. Apparently, the out and proud murdered teen- Larry “Leticia” King- had committed the unacceptable crime of professing to having a crush on his murderer. Oh, and according to this somewhat judge-y (Is it just me? No?) CNN piece, he also sometimes wore “high heeled boots”.
So does Dog the Bounty Hunter, and while I do sometimes think he deserves to be shot, I’d never ACTUALLY do it. Nor would a normal person who was raised in a family where morals, and actions resulting from said morals, are based on respecting all humans. This means teaching kids that there’s little to no mind to be paid to who other peopleĀ do/do not happen to be attracted to romantically. Instead of, say, how to borrow a gun from relatives and slaughter at close range a 15 year old who happens to be one of “them uppity he-she kinda queers”.
As if it were at all possible after reading this sad story, this quote from the victim’s father just further ruined my day:
The victim’s father, Greg King, described the plea agreement as “bittersweet”…“I think they should have taken another shot at it, but I understand why they didn’t,” he told CNN affiliate KCAL.
You couldn’t think of ANY OTHER TURN OF PHRASE?! Dammit dammit dammit.
