I enjoy creating personalized mailings of pictures of scampering pets saying things in thought bubbles, curated from the endless bounty of photos of creamy linens featured in yuppie home furnishings catalogs. Oh, here’s one now.

This rascal’s comment displays a non-hostile attitude towards my birthday friend, Ben G. Ben was my first recipient of these little beauties way back when (2005?). I would mail my creations out on the company’s dime in increments throughout the year, depending on how bored/hung over I was at work and how many catalogs I’d swiped from the mail room.

The animals tended to be ever so cross with Ben, and said some hurtful things to him about body odor and overall likeability (or lack thereof). Their most frequent taunt was the simple, but hard-to-ignore “I hate Ben G.” I chalked it up to their being inbred pet mill garbage exercising their free speech rights, but Ben took the pets’ scathing jibes pretty hard. It’s nice to see this ginger doxie has a kinder, more neutral attitude towards my old chum. Also, I drink a lot less these days.
